Squad History

The squad was founded in 2001 in the MMOG World War II Online as the 78th Fighter Group. The squad had a lot of fun in WWIIOL specializing in bomber escort, but as time went on the game became more focused on the ground war and the air war got left behind. When it became obvious that there would be no significant development in the next few years, the 78th left WWIIOL in June 2006 after flying over 1000 squad missions.  After taking the summer off the squad came to Aces High in November of 2006 and have been anxiously waiting for Combat Tour ever since!

Our Members

We are a mature squad with an average age of around 40. Some have over ten years of online flight sims, some have less than one.  The two key things that bring us together are the social aspects of the squad and our interest in the historical aspects WWII air combat. We play the game to have a good time with the guys and enjoy flying the iconic aircraft of WWII in a realistic manner.

Time Zone

Most of our members are in the Eastern or Central time zones so our squad nights normally start at 7:30pm Eastern.

Voice Comms

A big part of being a social squad is being able to speak to each other (typing just doesn't cut it). Accordingly, we have a private TeamSpeak server which we use whenever we fly. Even though AH has it's own built in vox, the sound quality of TS is much better and we have more flexibility in how we use it.
